Lord our God, in your infinite goodness, fill all of your ordained priests with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Help them to keep their lives constantly centered on you.

Remember in your kingdom those priests dearest to us:

the priests who baptized and chrismated us
the priests who give us your Holy Body and Blood in the Divine Eucharist
the priests who bring us your absolutions in the holy mystery of penance
the priests who teach and instruct us
and all the priest to whom we are indebted in other ways, especially (add names here).

Keep them close to your heart, and grant that each may receive the reward of good stewardship in his office, at the second coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

For you are blessed and glorified now and ever and forever. Amen

Gracious and loving God, we thank your for the gift of our priests.

We thank you for all they do for us as chosen servants in your love for us.
Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments.
Through them we receive consolation and guidance through the many passages of our lives.

Help our priests to be strong and filled with courage in their vocation.
Set their souls on fire with love for your people and compassion in their service to all.

Grant them the gifts of the Holy Spirit they need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Allow them to experience joy and fulfillment in their ministry.
Inspire them with the vision of your Kingdom.

Grant them the health, well-being, and fortitude needed to fulfill their mission.
Protect and encourage them through the challenges they daily face.

Fill them with the words and knowledge they need to spread your Gospel
and the wisdom needed in their many roles.

Help them to become instruments of your divine grace in every way.

We ask all this through Jesus Christ, our Lord.  Amen

and dedicated themselves to your gospel, we pray.
